From afroflow.com:
The brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha were great, enthusiastic hosts for the AfroFlow Tour. In short, these are some spirited, live cats who definitely handle business. Much love to Emily and Louis for the link. Cancer survivor and Pike member, Mathew Griego, better known as “Lefty”, humbly shared his story of triumph before the show. Then he joined the respectfully rowdy crowd for one of the “livest” shows of the tour. Shout out to Ben (aka “Africa”), for settin’ it off and remixin’ “Ethiopia (Everything Will Be Alright)” on the spot when I tossed him the mic. They extended the song three times before we could hit ‘em with “Warrior’s Rhythm.”
It’s especially cool when people bring kids – their sons and daughters, younger siblings, nieces, nephews, etc. - to vibe with us. We always do our best to find a place for them on stage at some point in the show, and young Jaden and Talib quickly became crowd favorites (there should be some pics or vids of them somewhere on this site). Big up to 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks’ David Lee for taking time out from shooting a movie in Albuquerque with his brother Spike to rock with us.
The laid-back people, great weather and routinely blue skies of Albuquerque made it hard to leave, particularly with a Detroit-based crew. We love the D, but we’re happy to be out West in February! Kenny Watson, Sowandé and I are officially addicted to green chilli now … thanks to the "Pikes" that took us to the well-known Sadie’s Mexican Restaurant. Finally got a cut too – hard to manage on the road.
